[bye bye baby stuff]

Well the goal of 'decluttering' my house has not waned ... and at latest count I have made just over $200 selling my stuff through eBay and Gumtree. It's not exactly a fortune, but the biggest reward is that people have paid me to TAKE AWAY the stuff I no longer need.

With my youngest starting Year 2 this year, it's really about time I got rid of all the baby stuff!! I sold off a bunch of the bigger items like prams etc. a couple of years ago, but the boxes of toys and linen and other stuff were still hanging around.

I've also learnt a few tricks to taking quick and easy photos - a big piece of card angled in a rounded 'L-shape' (not folded) behind the item - which eliminates any corners and gives nice shadows. Memories of art directing photo shoots in a professional photographer's studio come flooding back. *sigh*

The other thing that's working well is that I manage my eBay sales direct on my iPhone - I take the photo on the phone, list the item and upload the photo, get notified of bids, receive questions from people, as well as see who's paid, and who hasn't. The eBay iPhone app is great! This has made it so much easier to keep track of it all.

My other trick is that I'm putting the proceeds of my decluttering sales into a separate bank account, and I reckon come September I'll have enough to cover the cost of our holiday!! Yippee!

[gooey-centred chockies]

Had a bag of leftover Christmas marshmallows begging to be dipped in chocky and 100s and 1000s for me to take along to a party this arvo, but what to do with the leftover dipping chocolate....?

Nutella-filled white chocolate hearts of course! Ooooohhhh, I'm so bad. xx

[timber for the woodcarvers]

With the heat in Brisbane earlier this week, I was beginning to think my tree pruning crusade was a really bad idea...we'd really miss the shade in the backyard...but as it's been 11 years since our mango and macadamia nut trees had been pruned properly, their towering canopies were just getting out of hand, and disasters waiting to happen in the next big storm.

My Mum and her partner are members of a woodcrafting group, and do woodcarving and pyrography, so rather than all the timber go to the tip, we saved the bigger limbs for them. The mango timber is a lighter colour like pine, but the macadamia is a lovely red, can't wait to see how the timber looks once it's carved and polished.

This should keep them out of mischief for a while...

[busy busy holidays]

No wonder the kids are flabbergasted that there are only two weeks left of the school holidays...
we've been busy, busy, busy doing lots of fun holiday stuff like:

fishing...

starting TaeKwonDo for the first time...

visiting country cousins and feeding the birds...

Not to mention the spectacular dinner and lunch at the Yarraman Hotel...

Don't you love how the kids got a 'fire engine drink'? - mix your own~! They thought it was awesome.
Gotta love country hospitality, and the $12 steak and veg was delish.

Oh yeah, and lots and lots of swimming...

Hope the holidays with the kids are fun for you too!
xx
